Table update

| October 15, 2013

I think I finally have the table set up the way that I want.

See, when we ordered the table, we ordered a sheet of acrylic for it, which I hadn’t used until now. So, I assembled two printed maps – one for space, one for ocean. Since they’re under the acrylic, the ships slide easily. Of course, we can always add islands, asteroids, etc.

On top of that goes two sheets of felt (one white, one green) each folded in half. If you want to play a snow game, use that one. Ocean? Remove the snow. full length grass game? Pull the divider, pull the snow felt, unfold the green felt.

Now all I need to do is actually paint some minis.

Last round of pics for tonight…

I’ve finally sorted all the photos I dump in to the “new” folder on my laptop, so here is:

  • A little bit of fall for those who miss it.
  • A picture of my (now clean) hobby table.
  • An oddly-shaped carrot from my garden. I’ve dubbed it Carrot-thulhu.

And here’s some video of socks and diesel.

If you listen very carefully, she does her cute “chirp” right at the beginning. I try to get her to do it later in the video (hence why I keep saying “Socks” in that odd pitch – she seems to respond to that better), but she’s being shy.

In case anyone was curious…

The reason for the pile of postings is that Liz and I are watching Mega Python vs. Gatoroid and I’m organizing photos – hence the lots of photoblog posts.

The movie, is, of course, awesome, because it represents a singularity as it is a movie starring both Tiffany and Debbie Gibson.

Keezer

| October 12, 2013

So, I don’t think I ever posted pictures about this.

Shortly after the gaming table arrived, the nice folks at GeekChic did a matching keezer collar for our 4 tap beer system in the basement.

More warmachine

| October 12, 2013

Last Saturday, a guy with whom I work and his son came up and played some Warmachine.

Liz and the boy ran eNemo and a largely electrically-based army, and I and the dad ran Karchev with a mixed ranged and melee army. Scenario was Steamroller 2011 capture the flag. Khador won by caster kill – apparently, Nemo can’t survive a couple of Ice Axe hits to the face (boosted by Unearthy Rage). He was pinned by a Man-o-War Drakhun, and he didn’t run away after a the same Juggernaut crushed a Thunderhead the previous turn.

More nursery photos

| October 12, 2013

The rug for the nursery arrived this Monday, and Liz cut some owls out of adhesive-backed vinyl to add to the nursery.

The idea with the rug is that, before bed, we can all sit round the campfire and read a story.
