The Caffeinated Penguin

musings of a crackpot hacker

On print quality

| December 9, 2008

One of the problems with D&D 3rd ed, 4th ed, and, well, pretty much all of the post-WoTC TSR books is that they're printed using this shit ink which smears when you get the oils from your skin on it. The older TSR books (Second Edition, Alternity, etc.) didn't have this problem, nor do most of the other game books you buy today (SR4, Alpha Omega, Burning Empires, are all fine).

It pisses me off that a $35 game book has smudges on the corners from turning pages.

The Sultan

Drool drool. It's nice enough that Liz would let me put it in the den.. Of course, the price tag and the lack of a gaming group make it not really realistic, but hey.

Special projects

Okay, this is the secret project to which I was referring.

Note that I can take little credit for it. I was just labor. Liz was planning, financing and management.

IPR kicks my ass

So, not only did I get the Alpha Omega Book + PDF bundle for the price of the book, but apparently they've contracted with DOJ Logistics. I don't know why this happened (can't find anything about it on their blog or anything), but presumably it is because business is good and they need to expand. Good for them! Anyway, good for me too, because they included a copy of this as a gift. (I know, because it said “I'm A Gift, www.dojlogistics.com”.)

Rawk!
