So, aside from the past month which has been a bit crazy, I’ve been painting again…
The Chaos ships are painted dark green with a couple coats of black wash. The tanks are green and kind of a sand color, with appropriate highlights (treads, etc.) then black wash. The base is painted, and then after this [...]

when you combine:
A goat
About 5 lbs of C-4
Containers of salt and nails
Answer: The world’s largest, walking, demon-spawn attracting Claymore mines….
Roleplaying game players are often very, very creative..

I haven’t been blogging much, because I’ve been keeping pretty busy. High points so far:
Played in a 5150 (by Two Hour Wargames) game. As the name suggests, it is a pretty quick system, but I’d argue that it was only so quick because half the people knew how to play, and it is *very* bloody. [...]

So, we’re planning out the basement theater/den/rumpus room/cozy area, and we’ve got a lot of it figured out.
TV goes on this wall
That determines speaker and seating placement
We’d like to have the kegerator over there
Popcorn machine goes there.
That leaves this big empty space… what goes there?
Enter, GeekChic, and their Spartan gaming table. Bar height, perfect for [...]

Back from Carnage. Great con. Played in:
The Unexplained. Lots of fun. Bought it.
Heavy Gear Blitz. Decent, but likely won’t pick up yet another minis game. I’m not going to say it’s better or worse than Battletech – just different. Battletech is shoot, shoot, shoot, now you’re in arm’s reach, and you beat the crap out [...]

So, I’ve started to read The Foundation Trilogy, and it has me thinking about:
Traveller
Alternity
Full Thrust
(Primarily the last one).
Full Thrust is a very good space combat game, and the rules are available for free from Ground Zero Games website.
The main issue with them is that the rules are spread across 4 books, and later books replace [...]

Eclipse Phase is a roleplaying game about.. well.. whatever you want, set in the transhuman future.
Aside from looking interesting in general, it also licensed under a CC BY NC SA license. More info is here.
Not only does this mean that I can grab bits of the book to legally make and repost a GM screen, [...]

It’s old news at this point, but Wizards of the Coast pulled all their PDF sales because folks were sharing them an infringing on their copyright.
Now, while they have every right to protect their copyrights, and indeed have a financial responsibility to do so, and further, stopping PDFs of in print products may make sense, [...]
