Force carbonating soda at home

These things are neat. The flavors pretty well suck, but using a fruit juice concentrate or some lime juice or something is quite nice.

I saw these in Clifton park at the Hannafords and was wondering how good they were. figured it couldnt be that bad since carbonating water is rather simple. However, I was curious as to the quality of the purchased product.
The quality of the product is fine. (We have the “Dynamo” model, and we got it at BJ's). The cylinder is your typical DOT compliant aluminum pin-valve type w/ overpressure disk. The housing is plastic, but decent, and the pressure bottles are thick polycarbonate type. The soda flavors all have Splenda in them, but the “essence” flavors (to basically make tonic water) aren't… but also aren't as good a just a squirt of real juice – or cut 50/50 fruit juice and plain seltzer, etc.
I think the main determining factor is the quality of your water.
You can play with it when you're next over.
great!
