While the point of the following article is that these folks are caught by intertube vigilantes, it still makes me very sad.

Cut for length, as it is a bit of self reflection.
I don’t know why it bothers me so much. Perhaps because I have cats? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m not turning into some crazy vegetarian, and I don’t have a problem with hunting and killing animals for meat. I also don’t have a problem doing what needs to be done and putting animals down when they’re old, sick, infirm, vicious, etc. I recognize the problem with overpopulation of wild animal herds, and how those herds need to be managed lest there not be enough food to sustain the herd and a large portion of it die out.
Perhaps it is the senselessness of it all. I mean, what is the point to stomping a kitten to death, or beating one against the wall? It doesn’t do anything – it’s just a cruel waste.
Hug your animals for me, folks.
