Mantis B4 Buzzard Received
Posted By matt on March 30, 2009
My Mantis B4 Buzzard arrived today. I like it. It’s nice, solid, sharp as all get out, and opens beer nicely.
The big test is how well the edge lasts, so I’ll let you folks know in a month or so (I tend to use knives a lot).
Criticisms:
- For a tiny knife, they sent it in a big box with some catalogs. Come on guys, chuck it and a catalog in a padded mailer and call it done.
- They sent my tracking order along with a half dozen other people. It was a BCC-ed email, but come on folks – ONE email per person. That’s just lame.
Now, because I’m a fan of sharp things, provided this one works well, I’ll likely have to order myself an M3 Churchkey (fulfilling both the beer opening and cutting things requirements), the TA-2 Seymour (because I could use me a skinner), and an MF1 Pry Bar (because… hell, I just like pointy things).
As an aside, but somewhat related, I ordered some replacement grips from Midway for my Astra Firecat, and in order to not incur the extra processing, I tossed on a standard length guide rod for my 1911… and forgot a replacement plug. D’oh!
