Mexican drug war violence

So, there have been a lot of articles recently about how US guns find their way into Mexico, and how we need to restrict gun rights in this country in order to help Mexico.
Hmmm…
Seems to me that there is a problem with the illegal flow of guns across the border, not the fact that they can be bought here.
Kind of like the flow of drugs across the border, isn’t it?
Seems to me that if we were to police the border better, we’d impede the flow of guns, drugs, and illegal immigrants. Hell, just starting to shoot people jumping fences as “foreign invaders” would go a long way towards setting an example – you come through at a checkpoint, or you get buried in a shallow grave in the middle of the desert.
Of course, this is presuming we keep the drugs illegal. Personally, I think that doing something under the influence (like driving a car) should be illegal… oh, wait, it is. How about breaking into people’s houses to finance your habit? Yep, that’s illegal too. So, maybe we just make the drugs legal and tax them like alcohol and cigarettes. Hell, put it under the BATFE, and then maybe the DEA can stop knocking over legal medical marijuana clinics…

There you go… making sense again. Don't you know this has EVERYTHING to do with politics and nothing with practicality & common sense?
