So, Liz said that “The Legend of Bagger Vance” was a bad movie. So far it's alright, and I'm an hour in to it. It's kind of funny to see Will Smith playing the role of mentor…

I think I fixed my receiver. The remote control wasn't working, and it was getting annoying, so I figured I was going to have to go out and buy another one, and while I was at it, I'd get better speakers too. Then it sunk in that it was going to cost a grand, so I figured I would try and fix the old one. It worked, except for the remote control. After half an hour or so, the remote would stop working. I know it was on the receiver side, becuse the remote worked for other things. Turning it off and unplugging it fixed it sometimes, but not always. Then I finally hit on it – if you tap the plastic on the front, it would always start working – 100% of the time. This says to me that either there's a bad solder joint or a bad component. So, I open it up, and I find that the inside is all nice, easy throughole mounted components – really easy to fix. I desoldered the IR receiver and went to Radio Shaft to try and get another – no luck. I guess it's a bit too useful for them to have. Not wanting to be without the receiver, and figuring it might be the joint, I noted what it said on the component and resoldered it back to the board. So far, so good, and it's been 3 hours.

So, Liz is on vacation this week and is visiting her parents, so Mikey is staying with me. Looks like he's made himself comfortable. I think it suits him, don't you?
